IT'S THE LITTLE ADVENTURES
It’s the little adventures that make me feel like it wasn’t full of messiness, tantrums, or exhaustion. It’s the slice of the day where I lay at night and think, “We did good today.” I forget all too often that these breaks to have family time help me pause and look at my boys. See how blessed we are to be healthy and together.
Sam and I sometimes struggle with finding balance between work and family time, because running two full time businesses at home IS HARD. But gosh, I would not trade it for the world. For Saunder and Torin to have both of us around during the day.. to drop our things and head out as a family, is a gift. The sacrifice is our work is pushed to when they sleep - but I look at these photos we took at Saskatoon Farm and think.. WORTH IT. Sam laughs when I sneakily stuff cute clothes in the diaper bag because he knows I am bringing my good camera for this adventure, and he has accepted it.
I know some tell me to live in the moment, put the camera down.
In my perspective, I want to remember how I see them through MY eyes. I want to tell a story and live the story too. Photography ends up becoming a routine for me, I get lost in the work with other clients and I want to use my gift to capture my own family too. For this adventure, I snapped photos just in the one spot then put it down for the rest - happy medium right?
